Head 2nd Grade Teacher

Sasha came to Woodstock Day School as the Head Second Grade teacher starting in the 2022-23 school year. 

Most recently, Sasha was Head Teacher for Special Education, First Grade and Associate Teacher for Special Education at Learning Spring School in New York City where she developed and implemented curricula and effective teaching methods, differentiated instruction for individual students, managed Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and supervised teacher assistants. 

She was a student teacher at The Riverside School for Makers and Artists and Bank Street School for Children, both in New York City, and at The Children’s Center at SUNY Purchase. 

Sasha’s extensive community service includes working with the New York/New Jersey Trail Conference restoring and building a sustainable trail in Cold Spring, NY; with the Costa Rica Animal Rescue Center and the Jewish Community Center of Manhattan Program for Youth with Disabilities. 

Sasha holds a Masters of Science in Education from Bank Street College of Education and a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Psychology from SUNY Purchase plus she earned a certificate in Students with Disabilities and Early Childhood Education (Birth – Grade 2) during COVID. For her Bank Street Master’s Thesis, Sasha wrote and illustrated a children’s book. When not working, she enjoys hiking, cooking, playing music, painting, caring for animals and dancing, especially ballroom dancing.
