Pam Camara

Pam Camara
Head Preschool Teacher

Pam Camara arrived in preschool in the fall of 1988 with her daughter Shea and never left!!

Pam arrived with her love of children, her years of experience as an outdoor educator, and her view of the world fed by her Bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic as well as her travels around the planet.

In 1990, she was certified by the St Nicholas Montessori Institute, London, to teach ages 0-6.

Pam has found expressive joy as well as soulful medicine through dancing since age five. Along with her husband Mimo Camara, a former lead dancer with Guinea’s national troupe Les Ballets Africains, they teach adults in the larger community as well as leading a yearly residency at WDS with all students through 8th grade.

Pam and Mimo  bring these joyous art forms to Summer Adventure, WDS’ summer program, that Pam created and has directed since 2005.

Being outside, a nearly annual trip to their second home in Guinea, as well making connections with people are a few of the sources of Pam’s resiliency and curiosity.
