Martin Bernstein

Martin previously worked as the Director of Annual Giving at Frost Valley YMCA where he managed annual fund campaigns and designed and oversaw online and in-person campaigns. He also worked as a Development Officer at the Ashokan Center where he developed alumni giving circles, planned and managed the annual gala, alumni gatherings, and public fundraising events. Also at the Ashokan Center, Martin worked as a Program Director, Program Coordinator, and Program Instructor which included, among other accomplishments, leading outdoor team building activities, teaching environmental science, and building an archery course. Additionally, Martin worked as an Assistant Director and Hiking Specialist at Trailblazers Camp. More recently, he co-founded Abandoned Hard Cider and spent five years as their CEO, helping to build a successful business from the ground up.
Martin holds a BA in English from Columbia University and holds a certificate in Fundraising for Nonprofits from SUNY Ulster and is a YMCA Certified Fundraiser. His education has included time studying at Kunst Skolen’s Institute of Arts and Technology in Oslo, Norway. Martin also worked one on one with children and youth on the autism spectrum and engaging children in music and art-oriented activities for Big Brother Big Sister in Norway.
