Jake Wasserman

Prior to coming to WDS, Jake worked as Mental Health Counselor at Astor Services Outpatient Counseling Center where he provided counseling services for children and adolescents from ages 4-21. As a Mental Health Counseling Intern at Astor Services Partial Hospitalization Program, Jake facilitated group therapy sessions for adolescents ages 11-18 years old, individual and family therapy sessions, and assisted Learn Well Teacher to help clients with their schoolwork, and conducted crisis interventions. He also worked as an intern at Mid-Hudson Valley Red Cross, where he was certified in Psychological First Aid, as a Peer Counselor at OASIS/HAVEN, where he counseled and supported students who were experiencing crises, as a Resident Assistant at SUNY New Paltz, and as a Camp Staff Member at Dream for the Heart Camp in Buffalo which served children ages 8-15.
Jake holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marist College and a BA in Psychology from SUNY New Paltz where he also minored in Disaster Studies and Philosophy.
