Andrea Keltos

Andrea joined WDS  as our new School Counselor/Mental Health Coordinator in May 2022.  

Andrea brings experience to our community as a school social worker, group mental health facilitator, and classroom 1:1 aide. She has worked for several years in the Commack (NY) School System and in private practice in Smithtown, NY with children and adults ranging in age from 6 to 23 years old. 

Andrea’s experience includes monitoring individual student academic and social-emotional needs, advocating for students’ needs in coordination with faculty and staff, facilitating behavior intervention plans, running social-emotional learning groups for students of various learning disabilities and emotional needs, group and individual therapeutic activities for social skills and emotional regulation, crisis intervention, working with children and adolescents to address issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and eating disorders, as well as experience utilizing creative art/play therapy.

She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from SUNY Stony Brook and a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY New Paltz and is certified as a NYS School Social Worker.
