Naturalist Club
Instructor: Lewis Berns
Ages 7-14
Cost: $375 includes $50 material fee
July 13 – July 31,2020
Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9am to 1pm

The Naturalist Club is a virtual community that will gather around the intersection of outdoor experience and artistic expression.  Members of this club will have access to daily uploads of content that guide them through the process of maintaining a naturalist notebook.  Lessons will be shared that teach them how to draw and paint from observation, and preserve subjects collected in nature. Bushcraft challenges will be shared, designed to encourage kids to see the woods as their playground and their backyard lot as a blank canvas for creating. Handwritten notes and observations will keep us all sharp and promote literacy skills that tend to fall to the wayside during the summer months.  We will meet virtually three times a week, for three weeks, to build our community, share our adventures with each other, and learn more about the local flora and fauna that have been filling the pages of our naturalist notebooks.   We hope you join us this summer in growing this creative community of outdoor adventurers – The Naturalist Club.
