Our Board & Community
Our Faculty
Our teachers provide a nurturing atmosphere in classrooms and beyond, building bonds with young people that often last long after graduation. Their commitment to excellence can be seen in the quality of work produced by students, as well as the process of developing those projects through meaningful activities and assignments, often influenced by student interest.
The element which truly makes WDS special is, of course, our teachers.
Board of Trustees
The purpose of the Board of Trustees is to support the mission of the school and to ensure its fiscal perpetuity.
Our Parents Association
The Parent Association is led by parent volunteers that meet monthly and work collaboratively with school administration, faculty, and families to support each other and the school community. Led by the Parent Association Head (or Co-Heads), each class has a Class Parent (or Co-class Parents) that serve as support for each class, especially around communication and connection, by sending out weekly updates, helping get volunteers for events and fundraising, and organizing class get-togethers. Every parent at WDS is a member of the Parent Association and there are many opportunities for involvement.
WDS asks that all parents dedicate 25 volunteer hours per school year. These volunteer opportunities are often facilitated through the Parent Association. This arrangement encourages parents to participate in all aspects of school life, including chaperoning lunch, driving on field trips, cleaning and caring for school grounds, teaching intensives, and helping with school-wide events.
