Friday Letter: May 15, 2020
Dear WDS Friends and Families,
The ingenuity and thoughtfulness of WDS students is more powerful than any pandemic. See the 5th grade news program celebrating our teachers. Our resident music scholar, Peter Dugan is also launching a global music composition project called Don’t Stop WDS Sing Along. Peter, along with many of our arts specialists and upper school faculty are working with KED colleagues in the UK and Sweden to connect our students through the arts. And keep you sneakers close by, as Spirit Week commences on Monday and culminates with a virtual Field Day on Friday.
As we start to roll up our sleeves with the WDS Reopening Task Force, in the spirit of looking ahead, some words of inspiration from Seth Godin. “Our experience of time always goes in one direction…..Given that nothing is ever going to be the same, and that backwards isn’t an option, our only choice is forward. That’s always been true. As soon as we encounter something, anything, it will never be as it was. Fortunately, we have a chance to make things better. Every day.”
To take us into the weekend, some Stevie Wonder who turned 70 years young this week. Stay well and make happiness a habit.
