Arts & Culture
We teach for cultural fluency and civic-mindedness.
We do this around a campfire of liberal arts offerings in the arts, sciences, and humanities. Our students participate in an annual art show, concerts, and musicals. Our student films are regularly accepted into festivals and screened in NYC, our student-produced literary journal, The Battering Ram, received the highest award for New York State by the National Council of Teachers of English, and our Advanced Ensemble performs at local venues alongside professional musicians.
At WDS, we provide a wide range of visual and performing arts opportunities for children, supporting imagination, creativity and personal growth.

We believe in the power of Arts. Students are invited into the world of creativity. We use the arts to broaden perspectives, expand awareness, and allow students to rehearse multiple viewpoints.
