At Woodstock Day School, learning, play, and connection continue beyond the regular school day. Our Aftercare & Extended Day program provides students with a welcoming place to spend time with friends, play, create, complete homework, and participate in Enrichment classes led by WDS faculty and community members.
Afternoon programming runs each school day from 3:20–5:30 p.m., with a balance of structured activities and time for students to choose how they would like to spend their afternoon.
Students begin the afternoon by gathering for check-in, snack, and free play before choosing from the day’s activities. During the structured portion of Aftercare, students may participate in an Enrichment class, join an activity with the Aftercare team, complete homework, or continue with free play.
Later in the afternoon, the group returns to open play before Extended Day begins at 5:00 p.m. with time to pack up, have a snack, and close out the day together.
Enrichment classes are included as part of the Aftercare experience, giving students additional opportunities to explore interests and try something new without requiring families to register or pay for each class separately.
Each day, age-appropriate Enrichment classes are offered for students in Nursery School and Preschool and for students in grades K–5. Participation is always a choice: students may join the day’s Enrichment offering or remain in Aftercare for free play, homework, crafts, or other activities.
Enrichment offerings span a range of disciplines, including movement, science, nature, art, music, mindfulness, and more. Two sessions are offered during the school year, with one running from fall through winter and another from winter through the end of the school year.

WDS also offers additional After-School Enrichment classes outside of the daily Aftercare program. These separately registered classes provide students – and, in some cases, parents – with opportunities to spend more time exploring a particular discipline.
